The Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency is investigating a report Monday of a tornado touchdown in Muskingum County.
EMA Director Bo Keck says the Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls reporting a tornado at Old Riley Road and State Route 16 around 3 p.m.
Keck says one caller claimed you could see where the twister touched down in a field, and there are reports of a tree down and some structural damage.
Keck says he contacted the National Weather Service and their radar did not indicate a tornado.
Keck says another caller reported the tornado lifted from the ground and appeared to be heading to Coshocton County.
Earlier Monday the plant manager of Plaskolite, near the Zanesville Airport reported spotting a tornado around 1 p.m. Don Shultz said it did not appear strong, but it was rotating. (that is the 3rd picture in our gallery)
