The Army Corp of Engineers, Dillon Dam Project and the Dillon Falls Bait Shop are holding an event this weekend.
Get Out and Get Active Together will be held on Saturday from 10AM to 2:00PM at the Dillon Dam and Pond Area. Water Safety Ranger, Justin Jarrett says community members who take part will be able to enjoy food, cane fishing, water balloon tosses, a frisbee throw, life jacket obstacles and other unique events, such as a balloon release.
"Kids will sign up their name on a piece of paper and will be given a certain number, the number will be put onto a card and they will release the balloon. The balloon that travels the farthest and is found and reported in to Partyland, the kid will earn a prize."
The event is free for the public to enjoy. Jarrett says that the purpose of the event is to get people outside to enjoy time with family.
"The event is just to get the community out into our park and enjoy the outside, enjoy the natural resources, and bring some people that didn’t have the opportunity to get outside and do some fishing…get together and have family activities."
