The Granville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol announces that an OVI checkpoint will take place in Licking County Friday evening…

The checkpoint, funded by federal grants, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers. The patrol says based on provisional data, there were 309 OVI-related fatal crashes, in which 341 people were killed in Ohio last year.

The exact location of the checkpoint will be announced Friday morning.
