Rides at Muskingum County Fair

Rides have long been a part of the scene at the Muskingum County Blue Ribbon Fair, and this year is no different.

Bates Amusements out of Wintersville, Ohio have been providing the rides at the fair for over 25 years now. From a Merry-go-Round to the Cliffhanger, and the Kiddie Bus to Pharoah’s Fury, Karen Bates said they offer something for everyone.

"If they’re little, they like all the rides at Kiddie Land, and the teenagers like this side of the fence. "

Bates said they have 19 different rides for fair visitors to enjoy this year. Perhaps the best part is that there is no extra charge to ride.

"It comes with your admission price," Bates said. "Just pay at the gate, then bring your ticket to the ticket box, and you’ll get a wristband to ride all day."

While Bates Amusements travel to many fairs, Karen Bates said this is one of the best attended fairs they go to. Rides open each day at 11:00 a.m., close from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to allow a break for the workers, then open again from 6:00 p.m. to close.
