With college courses beginning in just a couple of weeks, Zane State College wants to make sure students are registered for all the classes they need this semester.
The college is hosting what they call "Flash Registration" from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. this Thursday at the Cambridge campus. They will also be hosting one at the Zanesville campus this Friday, again from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
"Our goal is to streamline the process for new students and returning students," said Pete Gooding, senior director of student success. "We’ll have all student services in one area where we can bring the students in, get them enrolled for classes, and discuss their financial aid. If they’re a brand new student, they can take the Accuplacer college assessment, and we can get them registered in their classes. We can do everything in one day, streamline the process for one day."
All students need to bring is a copy of their transcript from high school as well a copy of their college placement test scores. Gooding said they’ll have all hands on deck in order to make the day run as smoothly as possible.
"You can get the personal assistance that you need. If there’s any questions you have about anything, we really want to make the process very easy for the students so they can come in, feel very comfortable with the process, and we’ll be there to help them every step of the way."
Gooding said they typically average around 100-150 students for their "Flash Registration" events. Fall semester for new students begins on August 11th. Returning students begin classes on August 18th.
