Non-Injury Accident on I-70

A two car, non-injury accident occurred Saturday afternoon around 3:30 p.m.on I-70 westbound near the 145 mile marker. 

According to the State Highway Patrol the front left tire of a Mitsubishi traveling eastbound on I-70 came off, traveled across the median and struck the left front bumper of a Honda Minivan traveling westbound. Airbags were deployed in the minivan but no injuries were sustained. 

No citations will be issued, State Highway Patrol said the accident was due to vehicle defect. 

National Trail Fire Department also responded but left after evaluating the scene and discovering there were not any injuries.
