AAA and the Muskingum County Center for Seniors are partnering for the 3rd annual Senior Safety Day.
The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Muskingum County Center for Seniors. But it is only one of many events this month at the center. The Senior Public Relations Manager for AAA Ohio, Kimberley Schwind said that the goal of the day is to help seniors be as safe and mobile as possible.
"People aged 65 and older are actually the fastest growing age group in the United States, and recent studies have shown that more and more of these people are driving," Schwind said. "As we continue to see an aging population that is driving we want to make sure that they are as mobile and as safe as possible."
Schwind says that she is very excited to be partnering with the senior center for another year to help the aging population. That opinion is echoed by the executive Director of the Senior Center, Terry Dunn.
"To have a partner like AAA has been very great for us," Dunn said. "We have a need for partners in the community and that’s what we are about. We are about partnering with many many many different organizations to bring certain services and information to seniors."
