Zanesville Community of Voices held their 3rd Annual Candlelight Vigil Saturday evening.
The event was held at Putnam Hill Park and community members who lost loved ones to acts of violence attended. President of Zanesville Community of Voices, Kathy Dickinson says it is their way of letting families know their loved ones wont be forgotten.
"This is just our way, from Community of Voices, let the families know that we care about them and we never want to forget about their loved ones that have been lost."
A prayer service, candlelight vigil and lanterns were released. Dickinson says events like these are important in bringing the community together.
"It’s just to have some closure to get us together as a community. You know we don’t ever get together and this happened because of a tragedy in our community. So we want to take a tragedy and make it something positive within our community."
