Lane Dailey scored two goals and Logan McLaughlin and Tucker Zemba each found the net once as Bishop Rosecrans downed Zane Trace, 4-0, to advance to the regional final. This was the first regional win for the Bishops since 1996.
Rosecrans is set to take on Grandview Heights Saturday at noon at Bloom Carroll High School. The Bobcats edged Worthington Christian in a shootout to earn a 2-1 win.
Newark Catholic volleyball also danced on to the regional championship, as the Green Wave defeated Fairfield Christian, 25-15, 25-6, 25-10. The Green Wave play Beaver Eastern Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lancaster High School.
In women’s college soccer action, Muskingum fell to Wilmington, 2-0. On the bright side for the Lady Muskies, senior forward Moriah Mathies has been named OAC Scholar Athlete of the Month for the month of November. The nursing major is first in program history in assists and second in goals and points for Muskingum in a single season.
