The Muskingum County Library System is looking for your support.
The library system has a renewal levy on the November ballot. Blair Tom, the assistant director said the community has been very supportive and he wants people to know that the library is not asking for new money.
"What we would do that would be new is allocate those funds differently. We are just completing strategic planning and the community has us focused on maintaining those most traditional services while exploring and implementing new innovative services and programs" said Tom.
Tom said they are not thinking about what might happen if the levy fails but that they would still find a way to fund the improvements. But, he says they are committed to implementing the plan the community helped to develop.
Tom explained, "It’s library associates making sure people have exceptional library experiences, and the team that I’m fortunate to work with does just that, so I’m very optimistic."
This levy will help the library provide better digital services to those who need it.
