The State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle accident that happened on State Route 146 near Zane State College Tuesday morning.
Trooper Joshua Weaver says that 20-year-old Matthew Sheets was driving a red Chevy westbound on state route 146 shortly before 11:00 a.m. this morning when he went left of center hitting 16-year-old Paige Roe. Roe tried to swerve to miss sheets car but was hit head on. Trooper Weaver says sheets could be looking at multiple charges.
"Mr. Sheets is suspected to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, has been placed under arrest at this time and will be taken to the post for further testing" says Weaver.
Roe was transported by Falls Township EMS to the hospital for observation, her injuries were not serious. Weaver says that details of the accident are still under investigation.
"I have to speak to both drivers and see what the weather conditions were like at the time that they did crash. On our way here, I know that we did respond in heavy rain. For visibility, it’s still under investigation at this time."
