Christ’s Table is looking to help provide its family with Thanksgiving meals this year.
This Thanksgiving Christ’s Table is expanding its home bound meal service. Each day the organization delivers meals to people around the community who are restricted to their homes.
The meals will be delivered on Thanksgiving morning, and the dining room will also be open from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Executive Director Keely Warden said the people they serve are an extension of family.
"The guests we serve, we look at them as family," said Warden. "They’re not our clients or our participants, they’re family because we know them, we see them every day and they’re just like family to us. Our dining room on Thanksgiving Day will just be like your dining room on Thanksgiving Day we will be sharing food and fun with our family."
But to help its family, Warden said they need many more turkeys. Currently Christ’s Table has only received two turkeys and is looking for at least 30.
"We need to serve at least 500 meals on Thanksgiving Day. We will be open on Thanksgiving Day to serve our guests, and also, our home bound people, so we’re looking for lots of turkeys."
