This Sunday, November 16th, marks the 200th anniversary of Zanesville’s most famous landmark, the Y-Bridge, and you’re invited to help celebrate this momentous occasion.
From 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the welcome center you’re encouraged to attend a celebration for the famous structure.
"The birthday party is just a casual gathering, kind of an open house, for you to kind of learn the history of the Y-Bridge if your not with it. The first structures were wooden, and then we got into concrete, technology advanced of course," Said Anne Combs, manager of the Secrest Auditorium. "There will be displays of actual artifacts, from the pioneer and the historical society, there will be dignitaries there, senator Troy Baldersen, representative Brian Hill, the county commissioners, and of course the Mayor will be there to celebrate this wonderful event."
The bridge has been a vital means of transportation since its inauguration, and is the only Y-Bridge in the united states. According to Combs, it’s a landmark worth celebrating.
"Just please come and help us to celebrate one of our greatest landmarks.’
Again the celebration will be held this Sunday, November 16th, at the welcome center from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
