A ground-breaking recording artist made his way to Zanesville Sunday night.
Kenny Rogers and special guest Linda Davis came out to Secrest Auditorium to perform "Christmas and the Hits Through the Years." Music promoter and owner of Dusty Guitar Productions, Darren Tigner, said this is more than just a Kenny Rogers concert as local talent such as the Philo High School Choir and the "Twist and Shout" Children’s Choir also took the stage Sunday.
"It’s really a cool show, it’s a Christmas and the Hits. So, Kenny comes in and does his, all of his, you know famous hits and then takes a small break and then they come back and they do all these awesome Christmas shows with a local group, we’ve got local choir groups coming in and it’s just a really, really cool show."
WHIZ’S Dana Zimmer was back stage with the "Twist and Shout" Children’s Choir moment’s before they took the stage.
"We’re here at the Kenny Roger’s concert in downtown Zanesville, and during the intermission, the kids are gonna start the second half of the show. Are you guys excited? "Yes." What songs are you going to sing tonight? "We’re gonna sing, ‘Joy to the World,’ ‘Silent Night,’ and ‘I Believe in Santa Claus’ ‘Painting the Town’." Alright, well there you have it."
