Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized $80,000 worth of marijuana in Muskingum County Monday.
Troopers stopped a 2014 Nissan Sentra on Interstate 70 near milepost 155 on December 22. The car was pulled over for following too closely and traffic control device violations. Troopers say there were criminal indicators and a Zanesville Police Department drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. Probable cause was issued for a search of the vehicle. That search revealed two suitcases containing approximately 16 pounds of marijuana in the trunk. The driver, Raguel Morales, 33 of Wilmington, Delaware and Genaro Velazomes, 36 of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania were charged with possession of marijuana which is a third degree felony.
