The Juvenile Detention Center in Muskingum County is making more upgrades.
Since their last meeting with the county commissioners, the center has received another grant from the state. Superintendent, Allen Bennett, says this grant is for a little more than $16,000 and will be used to replace some equipment in their kitchen.
“It’s a little bit different than the other grant that we recently got. This was just a meeting to determine how we were gonna get, it’s also a reimbersment grant, we have to pay it out and then the states gonna reimburse us. So, this was just kind of a meeting to determine how that process was gonna work.”
The Detention Center is also in the process of receiving another grant that will be used to update their DVR system, radios, computers and more.
“We’re still in the process of getting the funds set up, it’s my understanding that the money should be in there as soon as next week and we’ll be able to start buying our equipment.”
Bennett says that he hopes to have all the updates complete by the end of February.
