The filing deadline for elected officials who plan to be on the ballot for the May 5th primary election is rapidly approaching.
Director of Muskingum County Board of Elections, Chris Hamill says the filing deadline is February 4th, at 4:00 p.m.
“We do have that coming up, and any of the offices that could be placed on the ballot for this May 5th election would be all the elected officials in the city except for the Municipal Judge,” said Hamill.
With under a month to go before the deadline passes, Hamill informed us that as of now, there have been no filings.
“We have had no filings yet, and also if anyone is going to put an issue on the ballot that must be filed also by February the 4th,” Hamill stated.
The Board Of Elections office will be closed this Monday, January 19th, to observe the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
