The Muskingum Valley Park District made huge strides towards improving our local parks today as they received a grant for $50,000.

James McDonald, President of the Muskingum Valley Park District, met with Muskingum County Commissioners today in hopes of obtaining grant money to help with administration finances.

“We came in to apply for a grant with the county commissioners to help with some of our full time and part time funding with the park district,” said McDonald. “As we are a non-profit we are trying to get things organized and going. We deal a lot with grants to make our projects happen in the county.”

They were awarded the $50,000 grant after only ten minutes. According to their website the Muskingum Valley Park District is dedicated to improving the quality of life through education, conservation, and the utilization of green space. McDonald feels that this grant money will go a long way in helping them continue that mission.

“Muskingum Valley Park District is out there for everybody to enjoy, we have a lot of parks out there we have them all on our website and you can see all we have to offer.”
