Mark your calendars because you wont want to “be late to a very important date” next weekend!
The Renner Theater will be performing Alice in Wonderland Jr.! Today was the third of six performances of well loved Disney classic. Director Sarah Gantzer told us all about what went in to making the magical world of Wonderland come to life.
“In January we got a whole bunch of kids to come out and audition and worked tirelessly to learn how theater works and learn how stories get told on stage. We had snow days–lots of snow days. But the kids have worked really hard to put on a really good story and they’ve learned a lot and we’ve had a blast.”
The audience had a chance to re-live their childhood while enjoying a colorful set, costumes, dancing and song performances. Gantzer said everyone who has attended so far has given a very positive response.
“Oh, its been overwhelming. It’s lovely. It’s so fun to see kids on stage because they’re natural hams so, you know, everyone has been so supportive and we’ve had great people helping me put the show on and I’m excited that everyone really has fallen in love with these kids because I certainly have.”
If you missed today’s show, you can still attend the performances next weekend. The cost to attend is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students and $5 dollars for children under 12. But hurry! You’ll need to “run twice as fast” because the shows are almost sold out!
