The Anchor Church of Zanesville is one of those churches offering special services for the Easter Holiday.
They’re holding their 5th annual Easter Celebration at Secrest auditorium on Sunday at 10 a.m.. We spoke to Youth Pastor Anthony Nutter who says the event has grown very large over the years, and Secrest is the perfect venue.
"We did this because about 6 years ago our building literally just couldn’t hold the crowd that would come. We had over 900 people come to our Easter event and so basically out of necessity, had to find another location and Secrest Auditorium was kind enough to open their doors to us."
The event will feature coffee and donuts at 9 a.m., a children’s event and give away, and a free gift to everyone who attends. Nutter says that they hope to make Easter easily accessible to everyone who wishes to attend or has interest in celebrating the holiday.
"We really do this to really try to acknowledge as a community our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To express our gratitude as a community together as a Christian community. A Christian nation. To acknowledge His love for us and the fact that He died and was buried and rose again for us."
The free event is open to the public. All you have to do is show up! Over 1,000 people are expected to attend.
