The West Muskingum School District had a dream 15 years in the making come true today.
The idea for a school combining the current two elementaries is finally becoming a reality. The groundbreaking ceremony was held earlier today at the schools future location, just 50 feet beside Falls Elementary. President of the School Board, Valerie Gutridge knows that combining the two elementaries will be a big step for West Muskingum. Gutridge said,
“To bring all the students together from Hopewell and from here at Falls, bring them all together, just the relationships they will get to make, the new friends they’ll get to make, it’s exciting.”
The West Muskingum School Board is working with Quandel Construction, and Paul Construction to build the new facility. The project will start mid-April and be finished in August of 2016, right in time for the new school year.
“I just want to say thanks to everyone, again today is finally the vision and the reality that we’ve all been waiting for.” said Gutridge.
With the new school will come a change in traffic pattern. This new pattern will come into effect April 7th around Falls Elementary and anyone with questions is encouraged to visit the school districts website at the address: www.westmschools.org
