The meals have sold out in past years and today was no different. Beginning at 11:00 a.m. people lined up for the dinner. The department sold out of 1,700 chickens in around two hours. The department said they enjoyed getting the chance to do something to give back on Father’s Day.
“I’m just excited to give back to the community,” said Lieutenant Patrick Stanbery. “It’s a way for us to just show face. The public shows , it’s just a way for us to give back. ”
The department sold 400 of the meals at the Richey road station and the rest were enjoyed at the Dillon Falls road station. All the money raised will benefit the volunteer department.
