The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate a break-in at Northside Pharmacy in Roseville that occurred after 4:00 a.m.
Sheriff Matt Lutz said they found evidence of a break-in and stolen prescription drugs. The pharmacy is working to determine what types and how much the suspect escaped with. Lutz said that this break in is consistent with a pattern of break-ins in the area.
“With several of the break ins, we’ve had the entry points at the same spot,” said Lutz.”They were not in the pharmacy very long. ”
Surveillance video is being reviewed to identify the suspect but Lutz said the unidentified person covered their face with clothing. The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Department will be cooperating with village police departments to provide more coverage in attempts to deter break-ins of this nature.
“We’ve implemented a program here where we’re getting our people out in the villages, not necessarily all the villages with police departments but the villages that don’t have police departments, trying to get our people out to do more community policing and being in the neighborhoods a little bit more and be more visible,” said Lutz.
The Roseville Police Department will assist the Sheriff’s Department throughout the investigation. Anyone with information about the break-in is urged to contact the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Department at (740) 455-7134.
