Fraternal Order of Police Golf Outing

Area golfers are getting their clubs ready for the Zanesville Fraternal Order of Police Golf Outing.

Sponsored by Terry’s Tavern, the golfers are teeing off to raise money for the annual Senior Citizen Christmas Dinner. Zanesville Police Captain, Tony Coury, said the community enjoys coming together in support of seniors.

"It’s nice to give back to the community and show respect for our seniors, they’ve done a lot for us in the past, and we’re just going to pay it forward and show them some respect also," Coury said. "We’ve been able to raise a little over $10,000 in the last four years, we buy a lot of food, and provide a lot of meals to the area seniors."

The outing kicks of Sunday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. at Green Valley Golf Course. Coury said they are still in need of hole sponsors whose names will be featured at the outing.

"They can call Terry’s Tavern, they are the ones collecting the money, Tim Arnold and his staff here have graciously opened up their establishment to allow us to run our benefit through them, along with that, Tim and his staff also do a lot of volunteer work in the community," Coury said.
