The Carr Center hosted their annual golf outing fundraiser today at Vista Golf Course in support of a good cause.
18 teams gathered this morning around 9 a.m. for tee-off. Afterwards, lunch, sponsored by Bill’s BBQ, along with a door prize drawing concluded the event. Money raised from the golf outing supports the organization’s youth programs including private speech therapy, a toddler program and a reading program.
“This is one of our primary fundraisers so it’s just one of the things that supports the programs of the Carr Center. We try to meet the needs of kids with disabilities in the community and so this is a real important event for us. It helps keep us going for the kids that need us” said Executive Director at Carr Center Kim Hosler.
Carr center has been a part of our community for almost 60 years and they’ve been putting on this golf outing for a long time as a way to socialize with their supporters. We asked her why she loves being involved in such an organization:
“I love being a part of the Carr Center. What we do matters a lot to me. Our mission is to help children and seniors in this community and there are a lot of kids out there that need us and programs like this actually help us to meet the needs of some of those people who perhaps haven’t been able to reach out to us” she said.
