A Zanesville Community High School Teacher faces a charge in connecting to a reported home burglary.
Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said 58-year-old Howard Twiggs is charged with a fourth degree felony count of burglary. The sheriff said the morning of January 3rd they received a complaint in reference to a burglary in the 200 block of Eagles Nest Road.
“The complainant, who’s the homeowner, said that he found a male subject in his house earlier that morning,” explained Sheriff Lutz. “A subsequent investigation was conducted and we took a suspect into custody.”
The sheriff said that not more is being released in reference to this case. They’ll continue to investigate and be prepared to present their findings.
“This isn’t your typical burglary report, there is a lot of investigation, a lot of follow up to do and we’re not going to speculate too much until we get all the interviews conducted and all the lab results and everything and of course we will confer with Mr. Haddox on what kind of case we have,” said Lutz.
Twiggs is currently out on bond. Zanesville City Schools Coordinator of Operations Kevin Appleman said he has met with Twiggs and placed him on leave until further notice.
