ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Muskingum County is seeing an increase of interest on investments.
Muskingum County Treasurer Chris Hammil said the county is doing well, but she wants to continue increasing the county’s bottom line. Hammil said she also wants to give locals different ways to pay taxes.
“With the county, we are a little behind on the ways tax payers can pay their taxes. So I’m looking into different methods of ways to pay your taxes, that should be available possible the second half of next year when you pay your taxes bills. Hopefully you’ll see some new ideas that we’ve installed with the county” Hammil said.
Hammil said she wants to see the county’s investment continue to grow.
“We’re just seeing a higher interest rate on a few of our CRs. It will benefit the county. We’re hoping to see in the future.”
The next investment committee meeting is set for December 21 at 2:00 pm.
