Big BrotherZANESVILLE, Ohio- A local organization will be honored at the Martin Luther King Prayer Breakfast.

Big Brothers Big Sisters will be honored for their services to the community. Executive Director, Mollie Crooks expressed her gratitude.

“We are very honored to receive this recognition from the Martin Luther King Prayer Breakfast. It gives us validation. That all of the effort we put in day in and day out to serve the children in this community, with caring responsible mentors does mean a lot to our community,” Executive Director, Mollie Crooks.

Crooks shared with us how she found out Big Brothers Big Sisters was receiving this honor.

“I picked up the phone and I have Kathy telling us how wonderful we are. And how they want to recognize us and honor us. And it still gives me goosebumps. It’s one of those times where, it’s like this is why we do what we do. Because it does matter. It does make a difference in children’s lives. Sometimes we can get caught up in all of the craziness that goes into fundraising, recruiting volunteers, and running a business. So when we get a phone call like that, we know that people are looking at us and appreciating what we do. It was just the best phone call that whole day,” said Crooks.

The Martin Luther King Prayer Breakfast will be held on Monday, January 18th.
