ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â We are less than 24 hours away from the 30th Annual Carr Center Cake Auction.
And the cakes have now arrived at the Colony Square Mall.
There are more than 400 cakes in this year’s auction. Each cake features a different incentive. All proceeds from the auction stay right here in Muskingum County. We spoke to Shala Stottsberry about what the Carr Cake Auction means to her.
“The cake auction means several things to me actually,” said Stottsberry. “I’ve participated as a cake baker for 7 years. And also the Carr Center is near and dear to me. My grandmother had dementia went to the adult day care services for over 10 years. So the Carr Center has meant a lot to me, personally.”
Stottsberry said the things she enjoys most about the cake auction is the cakes of course, but also the community rallying together and supporting a good cause.
“It”s nice to know that something out here can hold on that long. And that the community can keep it going for 30 years. I really hope that the Carr Center can reach their goal this year,” said Stottsberry.
