ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The 30th Annual Carr Center Cake Auction is just a few days away.
We sat down with the master of ceremony, Ron Bucci. Bucci has been apart of the of this event since the beginning. Bucci said he fell in love with the Carr Center just like the community has.
“Being here all my life, I just felt that you can’t help but help yourself when you help somebody else when you give back,” said Bucci. “I think God gave me a little talent and I just wanted to share that talent with others. And hopeful they’ve enjoyed it.”
This year the Carr Center is hoping to reach a total of $4 million raised since the event began 30 years ago.
“We have bidders. We have buyers. We have bakers. But the most important one is really the ones who sponsor the cakes and gives the incentives. And the second one would be the ones that buy the cake. We couldn’t do it without the community’s help and without people loving the project that we work on. And the money stays right here in Muskingum County. There’s not a dime that leaves the area. And we’re proud of that,” said Bucci.
The Carr Center Cake Auction is Thursday and Friday at the Colony Square Mall.
