36 area students closed the pages of high school and started a new chapter in life, Saturday.
Bishop Rosecrans High School celebrated its 66th Annual Commencement at Secrest Auditorium. Several family and friends stood as the class of 2016 made their way down the aisle to center stage. Valedictorian, Emily Dosch describes her feelings of relief and happiness.
"It’s crazy, we’ve all been together since a lot of us since kindergarten and preschool and to just get here together and be on stage it’s awesome," said Dosch.
Dosch said doesn’t look at today as a final goodbye rather a see you later. Rosecran High School Salutatorian, Sydney Nicholson said they’ve learned a lot of over the past 13-years and now it’s time to move on.
"It’s just the fact that I’ve been with these people, the same faces I’ve seen for the past 4 years, these are the faces I’ve sat with in class. We’ve cried together, we’ve laughed together we’ve been through heartbreak and everything else. The fact that I have to go out and not going to be with any of these people anymore it’s scary, but I’m excited to move on and start a new chapter," said Nicholson.
Nicholson said if she could give any advice to the incoming seniors it would be to savor every moment and don’t take anything for granted.
