ZANESVILLE, OHIO- The OSU Alumni Club of Muskingum County 17th annual scholarship auction is a few days away.
The auction will take place on Tuesday, May 10th at the VFW Post on Putnam Avenue. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. It’s $20 per person and and $175 for a corporate table of 8.
“This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, because every penny we make from this event goes towards scholarships for Muskingum County students to attend any of the campuses of Ohio State,” said OSU Alumni Club of Muskingum County President Terry Kopchak. “In fact this year we’re awarding 13 scholarships to graduating high school seniors planning to enroll in one of Ohio State campuses next year. And 4 scholarships for current Ohio State juniors and seniors. In fact the total scholarships we’re giving this year is our biggest ever. It’s $8,850.”
There will be a live and silent auction, a buffet style dinner, cash bar, and presentation of annual club awards.
“We will have a lot of great Ohio State items there in the auction. We’ll have a silent auction going from 5:30-6:45. We’ll have a live auction for bigger and more valuable items starting 7:30. We’ll have a great speaker coming. Roy Hall is a former wider receiver for Ohio State and NFL.”
