ZANESVILLE, OH- ACCEL and Mid-Ohio Food Bank teamed up to create their first free farmers market outside of Zane State.

ACCEL Project Manager, Jason Schroeder, said that they spent all morning unloading tons of food for people.

“Throughout the day we have had all kinds of fruits and vegetables. I have unpacked everything from mangos to tomatoes, you name it, we got it,” Schroeder said.

Schroeder said that it was an extremely busy day, but it was all made manageable thanks to the help of the community.

“We’ve got a great group of volunteers from all of our community partners including the Zanesville Civic League, ACCEL, and Zane State.” Schroeder also said they got help from other people too. “We had a lot of other people from the community help out who heard about what we were doing. We’re so thankful for all of these volunteers,” Schroeder said.

The next free food giveaway will be back at Zane State on July 6th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
