ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Each month the state of Ohio recognizes businesses that have been in operation for over a century. This month they paid tribute to a business located in Zanesville.
The Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home opened its doors in 1907 and today was recognized from the state’s Ohio Business Profile Program for the month of June. Ty Dierkes is the vice president for the funeral home and said it came as an honor.
“The thing we feel good about is that families have entrusted us with their most prized precious possessions; their love ones,” said Dierkes. “And for that we are thankful and privileged to do that.”
A representative for Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted was on-hand to present the award to the Bolin-Dierkes. Dierkes said that for a business to last as long as they have is a rarity.
“You don’t normally get 100 years very often. Business is difficult these days,” said Dierkes. “To reach the 100 year mark is exciting for us.”
