ZANESVILLE, Ohio – After Tom Poorman announced he was stepping down as president of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce, it meant that the chamber was in need of a new leader. Tuesday they named that leader.
The board voted Tuesday morning that Dana Matz will serve as new president. Matz has been with the chamber since 2002 and is grateful for the chance.
“I’m very excited that the board had confidence in me to do this position,” said Matz. “I’ve been with the chamber for 14 years and love all aspects of it and I’m looking forward to this new opportunity.”
Matz said he has lived in Muskingum County his whole life and is excited to start his new role. Prior to being voted president he served as the membership service director.
“The new role that I’ll take over will be the leadership of the organization. So I’ll be working directly with the executive committee, the board of directors, the vice president, and the other employees here at the chamber,” said Matz. “We’ll be looking to continue the good things that have been going on and to make some minor tweaks.”
Matz begins his role as the organization’s president effective immediately.
