ZANESVILLE,Ohio– The Zanesville Noon Rotary Club bids farewell to president Stacy Clapper and welcomes new president Jim Buchbinder.
Clapper has been a member of the rotary club for 7 years. Clapper said she has enjoyed her role as president for rotary’s 101st year.
“I’m most proud of the group that I am serving,” former president Clapper said. “These members come and give of their time for fundraising, meetings, events, and for service projects on a yearly basis.”
Buchbinder has been a member of rotary for 3 years. Clappers saID she has one piece of advice for new president Buchbinder. “Enjoy it, your year will go fast.” Clapper said she’s looking forward to the new projects that Buchbinder will bring to the club. Buchbinder talks about the challenges rotary is facing.
“The challenges that rotary in general has and that we have in Zanesville is attracting new young members,” president Buchbinder said. “Rotary international has addressed that in several ways. One of the ways they’ve addressed that is encouraging the new members to be involved in the community projects, and making meeting attendance just a little bit less stringent then it has been in the past. We want members that’s going to be engaged in community service more than anything else.”
