ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville Concert Association hosts a Mark Twain Family Fun Day at John McIntire Library Saturday.

The event kicked off this morning at 11 a.m and went on until 1 p.m and was free and open to the entire community. We talked to John McIntire Library Assistant Director, Blair Tom who said this event is a to ZCA’s kick off concert in October featuring Hal Holbrook performing Mark Twain’s ‘Tonight.’

“We have groups of community theater people from Licking Co. Doing Aunt Polly. We have Mark Twain here, we have a fishing pond, we have musicians. We have lots of great interactive activities for children and families to enjoy and discover together,” said Tom.

Tom said it’s good to have the members of the community to come out and enjoy the festivities, but he also wants to use this as a learning experience.

“The merger between the music and the concert association and the literature and the reading that the library provides, it seems like a very natural community collaboration,” said Tom.
