ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation met in Zanesville Thursday to provide an update the new billing system.
The meeting was organized with the assistance of the Zanesville Chamber of Commerce and was held at the Muskingum County Library System downtown Zanesville. Melissa Vince said approximately 30 Muskingum County employees attended a meeting and had the opportunity to share their concerns and/or ask questions on the new policy.
“We are just talking quite a bit about what B.W.C has been doing. One of the things that is changing is the way that we bill them we’re changing our billing systems. We will be billing them in advance of coverage and so this is a new process and right now private employers are going through that process. We want to make clear why we’re doing this and how that new process works so that they can meet the deadlines,” said Melissa Vince, Public Relations Manager, the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.
Vince said they chose implement the new policy to make the billing process simpler for the employer.
“It’s currently underway. Employers have an august 15th deadline to submit some information to us. This is really the first time they’re going through this part of the process and we want to make sure we let know,” said Vince.
