Wednesday saw more rain at the Muskingum County Fair. Fortunately one of the biggest events took place indoors.
Under the big top tent the Zerbini Family Circus entertained dozens. This is the 18th year Zerbini has been at the Muskingum County Fair. Margaret Valencia works for Zerbini doing a variety of things and said she is a sixth generation circus worker.
“My favorite act would have to be the dogs,” said Valencia. “For us it’s kind of great because usually it gives us a little of a break because we usually travel everyday. So coming to the fair is actually good because we get to relax and actually enjoy the fair.”
In addition to performances by rescue dogs, the circus also has camels, gymnast performances, and of course clowns. Valencia said that the rainy conditions have not kept anyone away so far.
“The great thing about the fair is that the circus is under the big top. It’s a huge umbrella. Even though the ground and surface is wet everyone stays dry under the big top. So it’s rain or shine for us,” said Valencia.
The circus will have performances under the tent each day during the fair at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
