Zanesville, Ohio- The United States Department of Labor has finalized changes to overtime rules that will be taking effect on December 1st, 2016.
The Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce, the Muskingum Valley Human Resource Management Association, and the Muskingum County Library System will be sponsoring an informative meeting on the new overtime rules at the John McIntire Library on Wednesday, August 10th from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
“The chamber has invited Jim Evans, from JK Evans & Associates LLC to talk about the upcoming changes in overtime laws,” said Dana Matz, President of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce. “This impacts the employers in our community and how they make some of their payments depending on the income level of the employee.”
The cost of admission for the program is free and Matz said that there’s a good chance that some of your employees will be affected by the new rules.
“What we are going to talk about are the changes that are going to come up in December for overtime and how the employees are paid,” said Matz. “The purpose of this meeting is to bring local employers in to hear from an HR expert on what to be prepared for in the new laws by the Department of Labor.”
