ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The St. Nicholas Church Festival kicked off on Thursday and will run through this Saturday.
The festival always runs the first week of August and this year’s is the 64th edition. Festival co-chair Betsy Farrell tells us her favorite part of the festival.
“I think the food,” said Farrell while laughing. “Who doesn’t like french fries, funnel cake, and ice cream?”
The festival is put on by St. Nicholas Church and proceeds benefit Bishop Fenwick School. In addition to food, there is live music each night and carnival rides. Farrell said the festival would not be possible without community support.
“The turnout so far has been great. We are expecting large crowds for the weekend too. We’ve always been blessed with the community coming out and supporting us. I check my phone a regular bases and weather has been cooperating too,” said Farrell.
There is no charge to enter. Friday and Saturday the festival starts at 6 p.m. and runs till midnight.
