Zanesville, Ohio- Hundreds gathered for the 10th annual light the night walk on Thursday night at Zane State.
Breana Shawver, Executive Director, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in the Central Ohio Chapter said that they had over 500 walkers and they’re hoping to raise $55,000 for blood cancer research.
“We have more than 30 teams of family and friends and also corporation that rally together to raise money for blood cancer research and programs and services to those who have been diagnosed with a blood cancer,” said Shawver.
Shawver said that collectively through the 10 years they have raised more than $800,000.
“We’re just so very thankful that this has grown to be such a recognized community event where hundreds of walkers, businesses, sponsors, come together for such a great cause.”
Shawver said that Thursday night was a celebration of hope and remembrance for those who have all been touched by blood cancer.
