Muskingum County Library Systems receives grant from Dollar General Literacy Foundation

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Muskingum County Library Systems receives a generous grant from a local business.

Dollar General Literacy Foundation has given $22,326 to support three initiatives at the Muskingum County Library Systems as well as Zanesville City Schools.

“We’re very honored and pleased to have this opportunity to invest these funds that addresses continuing to grow literacy and learning in students in the Zanesville City Schools District,” Assistant Director, John McIntire Library Blair Tom said.

Tom said this is the second year the library system has received this grant.

“These funds will be directed towards those three initiatives, Easy Readers which involved fifth grade students at John McInite Library; having an Ipad mini with a digital library, interactive with their teacher, dashboard, and access to the resources at the Muskingum County Library System,” Tom said.

Tom said the Dollar General Literacy Foundation receives grant requests from across the county. Tom said he is privileged and pleased that our projects and initiatives are garnering support from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
