ZANESVILLE, Ohio- October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and one local organization is hoping to make strides against breast cancer.
The American Cancer Society is hosting a walk at Ohio University Zanesville-Zane State campus on Saturday, October 15th.
“One of the things that we are doing is recruiting teams right now,” American Cancer Society, Senior Market Manager/Community Engagement, John Largent said. “Also participants and survivors can join in on our efforts to fight breast cancer.”
Largent said there is no cost to take part in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, however, the American Cancer Society does ask teams to raise funds.
“They can raise how much funds that they would like. We just want them participate and be involved with the event,” Largent said.
Largent said the cancer society is always in need of volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering or in participating in the walk visit, makingstrideswalk.org/zanesville.
