NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Homecoming is always one of the biggest yearly traditions for any university and Muskingum University celebrated theirs Saturday in New Concord.
Homecoming at Muskingum dates back to 1921 and each year hundreds of alumni from throughout the decades come back to their alma mater to celebrate. Jen Bronner is a proud Muskie alumna from the class of 1997 and is now the director for the school’s alumni relations.
“There are so many great things about being an alumnus here,†said Bronner. “There’s a feeling of community and family which was true when we were students. That is still true today. Welcoming people back for Homecoming. This is special because I was in school with a lot of people who are coming back for reunions. It means a lot to have people come back who call this place home.â€
Alumni were decked out in magenta and black all across campus. In addition to alumni gathers, a parade kicked off at noon, and the Muskie football team on John Carroll to cap off homecoming.
“We are super thrilled for people to be back here,†said Bronner. “We are excited about the weather. We are excited about the activities. And we are just glad to welcome people home. And go Muskies!â€
This was the school’s 95th homecoming celebration.
