ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â The Muskingum County Commissioners met Monday afternoon to talk about saving money.
The commissioners enlisted SpyGlass Group, LLC, to perform a telecommunications audit to ensure they are running at proper efficiency.
Jim Long, Director of Implementation and Project Management at SpyGlass Group, said the main goal was to see if they could help them save money.
“We ran a telecommunications audit for the county, where we gathered the invoices and put together inventories for them,” said Long. “[It’s] to make sure they’re using what they are paying for and paying the lowest amount for what they are.”
Long said that typically its protocol for the providers to increase the rates after a contract comes out of expiration.
“All of the funding for cities and counties is tax dollars,” said Long. “Saving that money to get that back into the budget is obviously what the tax payers really want to see happen so they know its not just going to the big corporations of AT&T, Verizon [and] what have you.”
SpyGlass Group also worked with other cities and counties in the area.
