ZANESVILLE, Ohio- For more than 50 years the Sertoma club has hosted pancake day in Zanesville.
On Wednesday in the basement of Secrest Auditorium, Sertomans will be serving up the all you can eat flap jacks all day long.
“It’s a family tradition,” Co-chairman, Russel Taylor said. “It has been happening for years. This is going to be our 57th year of pancake day. Families in Muskingum County look forward to enjoying good pancakes.”
Taylor anticipates serving 18,000 pancakes. Tickets are still available for purchase at the door for $8.
“It takes months of prep to get ready. But the good thing is, it’s been going on for so many years. Everything falls right into place. It goes pretty smoothly,” Taylor said.
Taylor said this year’s pancake day is in memory of the late Glenn McCutcheon, a Sertoma member who came up with the idea for the circle grill, where the pancakes are made.
