ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Zanesville Sertoma Club is hosting its 57th pancake day Wednesday at Secrest Auditorium
This event is in memory of late Glenn McCutcheon. A Sertoma member who came up with the grills used to make the pancakes. Co-chair Russell Taylor said Glenn’s presence is truly missed today.
“We appreciate Glenn,” Taylor said. “Everyone here loves Glenn. He is going to be greatly missed. We’re actually working on our grills right now. Wish Glenn was here to show us how to get it fixed in a hurry. I’m sure he’s with us in spirit.”
Pancake day is a tradition here in Zanesville. The items like the eggs, sausage, and syrup were purchased locally. And the revenue generated from this event is will be placed right back in the community.
“We try to keep our money in the county as much as possible, because if we support our county, our county will support us. The money that we raise goes to various goods and various charities throughout the county,” Taylor said.
The left over food will then go to Christ’s Table and The Salvation Army.
