A past director of the First National Bank and the past president of the Helen Purcell home has passed away.

Charles “Chick” Gorsuch died Monday at the age of 94. Gorsuch was a life trustee of the Zanesville Art Center and worked many years as a special gifts chairman of the United Way.

He also was an early vice president of the Zanesville Country Club and charter member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Along with his many contributions to the community Gorsuch also did a three and a half year tour in the armoured force in WWII and is the father to three children, step father to two daughters, grandfather to eight and had sixteen great-grandchildren.

He was a golfer, loved tennis and fished often.

In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions be made to the Zanesville Museum of Art: the Shirley Gorsuch Exhibit Hall.

Friends may call from 5-8pm on Friday at the Bryan and Hardwick Funeral Home. A memorial service is schedule for Saturday at 11am at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Zanesville.
