ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local bank became the top donor for United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties campaign.
Century National Bank located on Market Street in downtown Zanesville presented United Way with a check for $77,000 to go towards this years campaign. Executive Director Meg Deedrick said United Way fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person and in order to do that they need to invest in community programs that achieve those goals.
“We couldn’t invest unless people invested in us,” Deedrick said. “Like Century National Bank and their employees and it’s amazing what everybody giving a little bit can really contribute a lot and so we are very grateful for that and this long-standing partnership.”
Century National Bank employees have been partnering with United Way for years through financial support, volunteering , and being board members. However Bank Officer Noelle Jarrett is sure that this is the first year that Century National Bank has been the highest donor.
“It’s easy for Daren and I as the co-chairs to do our job this year, because our employees are so invested in donating,” Jarrett said. “That we just have to come up with some creative ideas to make the dollars come in, but they make it all very easy for us.”
Century National Bank will also volunteer their time on February 25, 2017 by taking over the United Way Free Tax Preparation Clinic down at the Colony Square Mall. For more information you can contact United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties by calling 211.
